Dubai is the next stop for Gate as it unveils its “Power of Now” event series. The global crypto exchange has officially started operations in the region, marking an important step in its international expansion.

While the gate.com brand is relatively new, the company behind it has been a trusted player in the crypto space for more than a decade. First introduced in 2013 under the name gate.io, the exchange has steadily built its reputation, now serving over 36 million users worldwide. Today, Gate stands among the top three platforms globally when measured by trading volume and open interest.
Reaching the twelve-year mark is particularly symbolic in Chinese tradition, which views it as the completion of a full cycle. For Gate, this milestone has become a moment of renewal—marked by a refreshed brand identity, global partnerships, and ambitious new goals.
A Year of Transformation
Recent milestones highlight how quickly the company is evolving. Over the past year, Gate secured partnerships with Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 and AC Milan, obtained high-profile licenses around the world—including approval from Dubai’s VARA—and began preparing for a music festival scheduled in Singapore this October. The company has also revamped its branding and brought in new talent from across the industry.
Gate’s CEO, Dr. Han, has been clear about the mission: “I want Gate to be the gateway to crypto.” Speaking at the WebX Conference in Japan, he reinforced the vision by stating, “Finance is going on-chain, Web3 adoption is unstoppable.” These remarks signal the exchange’s commitment to staying at the forefront of Web3 innovation.
Why Dubai? Why Now?
Dubai has emerged as a leading center for Web3 activity, positioning itself as a hub for innovation and investment. The introduction of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) created one of the most credible frameworks for crypto businesses operating in the region. Gate successfully received its VARA license in April, making this an ideal time to formally establish its presence.
The move not only aligns Gate with Dubai’s ambitions but also opens the door to collaboration in areas such as talent development, business growth, and Web3 education.
